Growing up, 4-H was a big, fun part of my life. This cookie recipe (courtesy of my great grandma) won me more prizes than any other recipe I baked and entered. In fact, they took 1st prize this year in the open class division of my local county fair. Read more about that experience here.
Prize-Winning Peanut Butter Cookies
1 C. Butter
1 C. Peanut Butter (I use all natural peanuts and salt only and it works great)
1 C. Sugar
1 C. Brown Sugar
2 1/2 C. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
Preheat oven to 375. Cream together first 5 ingredients. Mix vanilla into creamed mixture. Sift flour and soda. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Mix and roll into walnut-sized balls. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly in a crisscross pattern with a fork. Bake 8-10 minutes. Don’t over bake. After removing from oven leave on pan 1 minute to cool.
