I’ve never made an advent calendar for my kids before, so I decided that this was the year to do it! I found this post over at Simple Mom and got inspired (hers looks better than mine and has more detailed directions – you should check it out!)
To make mine, I bought all my supplies at Wal-Mart. I used:
Plain White Index Cards
Small sticky notes (smaller than regular size)
Miniature Clothespins (found near those small sticky notes in the office supply area)
I folded the index cards in half, stamped a number from 1 to 24 on the front (you could use # stickers instead) and then put a sticker on the back and had my daughter decorate the front. I only had an 8 x 10 frame on hand (and I didn’t want to buy one) but I really needed a bigger frame – as you can tell!
I had to cut the index cards down to fit in the small frame. I put a sticky note in each index card. I taped 3 rows of ribbon on the back with duct tape and that was it! There are lots of ideas floating around the internet about what to put on the sticky notes day by day. I didn’t pre-write activities down. I am scatterbrained so I am just writing activities day by day.
