Thanks so much for stopping by! I am a Christian, a wife, mother and a girl who has a dream of cattle ranching! I love to share people’s stories about life and agriculture in my bi-weekly column called “Road to Ranching”. You can check those stories out here on the blog too!
I grew up on a farm in Eastern Colorado and learned to love that ranching lifestyle – especially the cows and the horses. I was privileged to get to enjoy 4-H, rodeo and FFA while I was kid. Showing cattle, team penning, breakaway roping and trap shooting are some of my favorite childhood memories.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Agricultural Communications. I thought that the path to having a cattle ranch would be pretty straightforward, but it has been nothing like that – so far it has been a dead end (stretched across 3 states. I still love agriculture and know that someday I’ll have a cow a two.
Though the journey hasn’t been the one I planned on, I’ve learned so much along the way. I am much more humble, compassionate and caring than I was when I started – it doesn’t seem like God wastes any trial.
I have loads of experience with imperfection. I’m a girl who’s made more than her share of mistakes. I’ve had dashed dreams, battled people-pleasing and endured painful life circumstances (many of my own making). I know what it’s like to feel defeated and depressed. But I also know that there is great hope in Christ.
I’m married, have 2 sweet kids and currently live back in Colorado where all this dreaming business started (I’ve also lived in Wyoming, Kansas and Texas).
I’m a freelance writer and enjoy doing contract writing jobs! I’ve written feature articles, resumes and press releases for over 13 years. You can checkout my biweekly column in The Fence Post and see my articles in The New Falcon Herald.
